What exactly will my child experience during this camp?
Born to Lead: I Design Me is a transformational leadership journey — not just a recreational camp.
Your child will experience:
- hands-on leadership development,
- faith-based reflection,
- real-world life skills training (like public speaking, time management, resilience building),
- outdoor adventure, and
- deep brotherhood bonding.
Each activity is intentionally designed based on neuroscience, Islamic leadership values, and experiential learning principles to help them thrive both in this world and hereafter, iA.
How will you ensure my child's safety throughout the program?
Safety is our absolute top priority.
We maintain a high mentor-to-participant ratio for close supervision, and all activities are conducted under the guidance of trained instructors and certified first-aid responders.
We also implement gender-appropriate supervision with Islamic etiquettes, safety briefings before all activities, emergency medical support on site, and safe accommodation standards.
Parents will also have a dedicated emergency contact line throughout the program.
What type of learning method will be used?
We use a unique blend of:

My child is shy / introverted. Will he/she still fit in?
Absolutely, yes.
Our facilitators are trained to nurture every participant’s unique strengths.
We believe leadership isn’t about being loud — it’s about knowing your purpose, having courage, and building quiet inner strength too.
We create safe spaces for every youth to grow at their pace, whether they are naturally outgoing or more reserved.
Will the boys and girls be mixed during activities?
No, all activities are gender-appropriate and follow Islamic principles of modesty and etiquette.
There will be separate accommodation, grouping, and certain activity structures, with professional mentors assigned to each group accordingly.
What’s the accommodation like?
Participants will stay at safe, clean, and secure facilities inside APM Stable.
Rooms are separated by gender, supervised by our adult mentors, and nightly check-ins are conducted.
We aim to create a home away from home environment that promotes responsibility while ensuring comfort and security.
How do you handle homesickness or emotional struggles during the camp?
We create an environment of emotional support from Day 1.
Our mentors are trained in emotional first aid, compassionate listening, and Islamic counseling principles.
Homesick participants will be gently engaged in group bonding and faith-based reflections to build resilience and belonging.
Parents will be contacted if necessary, but usually, by Day 2, participants feel fully connected and engaged.
How can I support my child before and after the program?
Before the camp:

Encourage them with dua and positive expectations (“Allah is preparing you for great things!”)

Talk about leadership being an amanah (trust from Allah).
After the camp:

Reflect together on their learnings.

Support them in applying what they designed in their “I Design Me” journal.
