Discovering the Power of Faith-Centered Empowerment: A Journey with SWL

When we reflect on the moments that truly impact our lives, they often come unexpectedly. For Khodijah Musthofakillah Jamilumulkillah, a primary school teacher from Bandung, meeting Sisters Who Launch (SWL) in 2024 became one such transformative experience. Here is her inspiring story:

“Meeting Kak Henny and Kak Monna has been one of the highlights of my year,” Khodijah shares. “Before I even begin to talk about how amazing SWL is, meeting them, hearing their stories, and drawing inspiration from them opened my mind. They showed me that as Muslims, especially as Muslimah, we have the power to create global impact and achieve international success.”

Khodijah explains how her perspective shifted after engaging with SWL:

“It felt like a new door opened for me, showing me that life can have different paths. It gave me the sense of having new choices in how I approach my journey. Initially, when I was asked to be the MC for the session, I honestly thought it would be a simple talk show. But as Kak Henny and Kak Monna started explaining the cards and diving into the session, I found myself wondering where it was all going. It began with themes of empowerment and leadership—but quickly, I realized this was much deeper.”

A Session of Profound Reflection

Through the unique tools and frameworks developed by SWL, Khodijah experienced something she hadn’t anticipated.

“To empower ourselves, we must first have the courage to go deeper within ourselves. This means facing our sadness and long-buried emotions, bringing them to the surface, and letting Allah’s names guide us toward healing and strength.”

This powerful connection to Asmaul Husna (the 99 names of Allah) changed how Khodijah viewed these divine attributes.

“I used to know that when we pray, we should call upon Allah using the names that align with our needs. But I had never experienced it in such a meaningful way. Now, when I feel anxious or worry about the future, I recite Asmaul Husna while placing my hand on my chest. It somehow calms me and brings peace.”

Insightful and Transformative Moments

Khodijah describes the sessions as deeply insightful.

“Even though we were encouraged to bring out emotions we had buried for a long time, the process didn’t leave us feeling sad. Instead, it brought a sense of relief and motivation. It was like being strengthened and reminded of Allah’s presence through His names.”

She was amazed by how the cards, visuals, and Asmaul Husna aligned so accurately with the challenges she was facing.

“Every word, visual, and action in the session felt intentional, as if it had a purpose tailored to what I was going through. It left me in awe of how precise and impactful it was.”

A Newfound Passion for Learning

This experience sparked something new in Khodijah.

“I’ve always been interested in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and have dreamed of becoming a trainer one day. I’ve had some opportunities to share about self-development and teacher training, but I never really knew where to start. SWL has truly piqued my interest. It feels like a perfect match for what I’ve always wanted to explore.”

An Invitation to Transform

Khodijah’s journey with SWL illustrates the profound impact of faith-centered tools and empowerment. Her story reminds us that true growth begins within—when we have the courage to face our emotions, seek guidance from Allah, and embrace the possibilities that lie before us.

As Khodijah beautifully puts it, “SWL has shown me that we, as Muslimah, can create impact and leave a legacy that aligns with our faith.”
